Doug Farrar of SI.com dubs Pete Carroll one of the NFL's most indispensable coaches, pointing to Carroll and general manager John Schneider's complete reconstruction of the club to produce one of the better defenses in recent history. Farrar puts Carroll in company with New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick, New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton, San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh, and Cincinnati Bengals coach Marvin Lewis. Farrar writes, "Schneider is the personnel guy, but Carroll calls the shots, and he’s assembled the youngest Super Bowl-winning team in NFL history. The way he’s done it makes him just about impossible to replace."

A potential high volume weapon up the middle, Amaro doesn't fit the perfect profile for a big blocking tight end in the Seahawks power scheme.
