That was the word from coach Pete Carroll after his team’s final full practice before the 10-1 Seahawks take on the 9-2 New Orleans Saints in a “Monday Night Football” matchup at CenturyLink Field.
“We’re going to list him as doubtful right now,” Carroll said of a designation that indicates there is at least a 75 percent chance the player will not play. “We’ll just have to wait. We’ll go all the way to Monday with this and see what happens.”
And that’s the problem, as Harvin still has soreness in his hip from the 19 snaps he played almost two weeks ago.
“Unfortunately, he didn’t make it back like we though he would,” Carroll said. “It’s more important for us to get him back for the longer haul, so if we wait another couple days here and get through the week …”
Carroll said there is no structural damage to the hip, and the soreness is the issue.
“He’s just sore, so we don’t want to push it beyond that right now. It’s not worth it,” Carroll said. “We have to go day-to-day really. That’s the facts. I’ve told you, that’s the only way that we can go right now.
“It’s just him getting back and making sure he’s balanced in that area so he can handle the workload.”
