It had been four weeks since the Seahawks had played a home game, and 12s from all around were ready to be a boisterous entity to be dealt with when the Cardinals came to town on December 9. A heartbreaking loss to the Cardinals in the first week of the season still leaves a bitter taste in the fans’ (and I’m sure the team’s) mouth. The 12th Man was primed for a game against a tough Cardinals defense, but a big question mark with their offense. I seriously doubt anyone saw what was coming.
The Seahawks had a little something to do with it, forcing eight turnovers, scoring on defense as well as special teams, and generally having their way with the inept Arizona offense. Their quarterback carousel continued, and so did the lack of consistency a team needs to succeed at this level.![]()
We 12s gather again on December 23 for a game against the division-leading 49ers, “flexed” into primetime by NBC. If things break our way between now and then, it could be a battle for the division lead heading into the final week of the season.
But first, the team must travel to Toronto to battle the Buffalo Bills in the Rogers Centre in an international exposition of football. I have no reason to believe this team will falter at this point. They are really coming together at the most opportune time, and I believe they will stayed focused on the task at hand, and take care of their own business.
Then, they can bring the business home, and let us 12s give the 49ers some business.
