As the NFL offseason continues, ESPN's Dan Graziano put together a ranking of NFL teams in order of their current degree of confidence in their overall quarterback situation. The pre-combine list looks at starters, backups and factors in their age, health and more.
The Seahawks' quarterback situation with Russell Wilson and Trevone Boykin (Austin Davis is currently not under contract for next season) ranked fourth in the league behind New England, Philadelphia and Green Bay. Here's why Graziano listed Seattle where they are:
QBs under contract: Russell Wilson, Trevone Boykin
Wilson would have been a legitimate MVP candidate if the Seahawks had been a playoff team. He was, as we've pointed out a few times, the team's leading rusher in 2017 by 346 yards. Wilson has established himself as one of the game's best, which is why the Seahawks rank here in spite of uncertainty at the backup spot. Assuming Wilson doesn't decide to stick in Yankees camp and make a run at the majors, the Seahawks go into 2018 with more confidence in this position than maybe any other.
