Recapping what happened at the annual Seattle-area Sports Star of the Year Awards.

Good afternoon, 12s.

Here's a look at what's out there today — Friday, February 9 — about your Seattle Seahawks:

MTRWestern Sports Star Of The Year

Although no Seahawks received an award at the 83rd annual MTRWestern Sports Star Of The Year Awards in Seattle, the team was still represented well at the event.

Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman was on hand to present 710 ESPN Seattle's and longtime NFL reporter John Clayton with the Keith Jackson Award, which is awarded each year to a media member for excellence in communicating sports stories in Washington state.

Additionally, Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin was nominated for the Male Sports Star of the Year award. The award was given to Washington Huskies All-American wide receiver Dante Pettis. Seahawks players won the award the previous five-straight years.
