Seahawks Quarterback Russell Wilson Up For Clutch Performer of the Week at NFL.com
Wilson completed 20 of his 31 passes for 227 yards in Seattle's Sunday Night Football victory at CenturyLink Field, tossing three touchdowns to players at three different positions, with tight end Jimmy Graham, receiver Tyler Lockett, and running back J.D. McKissic each hauling in a score. Wilson also added six carries for 31 yards.
“I thought Russell was phenomenal tonight," Seattle head coach Pete Carroll said postgame. "I thought that was Russell showing you everything that he’s all about. From start to finish, from the first play of the game on. He was on it. He created. His execution was excellent. We didn’t turn the football over. Working the clock; beautiful tempo. Decisions, checks. The whole night, and the big plays were just coming out everywhere. Just phenomenal big plays in the game. Some legs-oriented, by moving around, and some just by pure execution in the pocket. He did everything today. I really think that he had one of the best games that I’ve seen him play.”
For Clutch Performer of the Week Wilson finds himself up against Los Angeles Chargers receiver Keenan Allen, Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones, Baltimore Ravens defensive back Eric Weddle, and San Francisco 49ers kicker Robbie Gould. Voting is open through 12 p.m. PT on Friday, December 8, with the winner to be announced later that same day.Read
