'Chalk Talk' With Brock Huard
Former Seahawks and University of Washington quarterback Brock Huard shares his latest 'Chalk Talk' video for 710Sports.com, this time breaking down tight end Jimmy Graham's touchdown in Seattle's 16-10 road win over the Los Angeles Rams this past weekend.
The 4-yard scoring toss from Russell Wilson to Graham capped a 15-play, 75-yard drive that ate up 7:34 of the game clock in the second quarter, and it came on a red zone fade route that Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll has been hoping his 6-foot-7 tight end and quarterback would connect on.
“It was great to see that," Carroll said after Sunday's game. "We’ve been hoping to get that done and we’ll continue to work that. Obviously, Russell threw the ball perfectly this time. Earlier in the year we missed it, but we won’t miss very many of those."
Added Wilson: “We just kept it simple and just went up and got it and he made an unbelievable play. He’s special at that and we were able to give him a chance there and come down with it.”
In the video embedded above, Huard explains why the play was successful this time around and offers insight as to why a play that seems so simple isn't always automatic. Read
