Marshawn Lynch and President Bill Clinton Team Up to Help Oakland
Marshawn Lynch's hometown of Oakland has always been one of the most important things in his life, so it's no surprise when Lynch is involved in an event to better his community. What you don't see every day, however, is Lynch hanging out with Bill Clinton, the 42nd President of the United States of America.
But on Sunday, Lynch, along with cousin and Fam 1st Family Foundation co-founder Josh Johnson, were indeed hanging out with Clinton, his daughter Chelsea, and other East Bay leaders, including Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf.
Lynch, Clinton and others were on hand to encourage students at an East Bay community improvement project, which included planting trees, painting murals and improving an athletic center. The event, hosted by the Clinton Academy and the Oakland Unified School District and the Oakland Public Education Fund, included Clinton addressing the crowd, as well as Lynch and Johnson posing for pictures and encouraging students. Lynch, who indicated his intention to retire after the 2015 season, has been busy since making that decision, including a trip to Egypt with American Football Without Barriers.
