Seahawks Sign OT J’Marcus Webb
The Seahawks added more offensive line help Tuesday, signing offensive tackle J’Marcus Webb. The move comes a day after Seattle signed tackle Bradley Sowell.
Webb, 27, came into the league as a seventh-round pick in 2010, and started 44 games in three seasons with the Chicago Bears playing both tackles spots. After spending two seasons in Minnesota, playing sparingly, the 6-foot-7, 330-pound Webb moved to right guard with the Raiders last season and started all 16 games.
The Seahawks currently have some uncertainty on their offensive line with right guard J.R. Sweezy leaving in free agency and left tackle Russell Okung still weighing his options in free agency. A player versatile enough to play multiple positions is also valuable to Seattle with Alvin Bailey signing with Cleveland in free agency last week. Bailey was the Seahawks’ top backup at both tackle and guard spots last season, and has started games at three different positions.
