CHARLOTTE - Russell Okung, Cliff Avril, and Kam Chancellor were the three Seahawks who Pete Carroll brought up when asked about injuries to his team in Sunday’s 31-24 divisional round playoff loss to the Carolina Panthers.
The Seahawks head coach said Okung dislocated his shoulder in the first half on the play that saw Russell Wilson toss his second interception of the day. Okung did not return and was replaced by Alvin Bailey at the left tackle spot.
"It just popped out,” Carroll said of Okung. "How that happens, I don’t know, but it did on the rush.”
Avril, Seattle’s defensive end who did not return after suffering a neck injury in the second quarter, came out of the game “fine,” according to Carroll.
"He’s been cleared,” Carroll said. "His neck got jammed, but was fine."
Chancellor, meanwhile, was absent from the Seahawks’ first defensive series because he got “banged” on the opening kickoff. The strong safety returned to finish the game.
"Kam got banged on the first play, on the kickoff,” Carroll said. “That’s why he missed that sequence in there."Read
