Wednesday Round-Up: Brandon Mebane's loss "big hit" for Seahawks, Pete Carroll says
Good morning, 12s.
Here's a look at what's "out there" for today - Wednesday, Nov. 12 - about your Seattle Seahawks: Read
Brandon Mebane Placed On Injured Reserve
Brandon Mebane was placed on injured reserve yesterday, putting an early end to his eighth NFL season. The Seahawks defensive tackle injured his hamstring in this past Sunday's win over the New York Giants. Tight end RaShaun Allen was signed from the Minnesota Vikings' practice squad to fill Mebane's spot on the 53-man active roster.
"I mean, there is nobody like Mebane," Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said on Monday, when he revealed Mebane could be out a while. "He’s a unique player. He’s had, I think, the best season he’s had since we’ve been here – most consistent. So that’s a big hit to take.
“But our guys that go in play good football, too, so we will expect them to play up and maintain the level.”
With Mebane out for the year, Seattle will turn to defensive tackles Kevin Williams, Tony McDaniel, and Jordan Hill to plug the middle of the team's defensive line. Read
Marshawn Lynch To Appear On 'The League' Tonight
Of tonight's show featuring Seattle's 'Beast Mode' back, Schafer said, "Marshawn -- I literally had no idea what to expect. I was talking to my wife the night before and I said "I think this is gonna be great. I don't know what it's gonna be but it's gonna be something and it's gonna be exciting. And he came on and he blew away every expectation. I had no idea how he was going to be, but he was talkative and fun and rolling with it. Rolling with everything."
