Tuesday Round-Up: ESPN SportsCenter's Seahawks training camp special kicks off at 10:30 a.m.
Good morning, 12s.
Here's a look at what's "out there" for today - Tuesday, July 29 - about your Seattle Seahawks:
ESPN On Site
ESPN will carry live coverage of today's practice at Seahawks headquarters, with host Kenny Mayne, NFL analyst John Clayton, former NFL coach Jon Gruden, and former NFL safety Darren Woodson on site for the two-hour SportsCenter special.
“They’ve been asking about it for quite some time and we thought it would be OK,” Carroll said after Sunday's practice of opening practice to a national television audience. “I’m not worried about them disrupting us at all and I don’t mind contributing to what they’re trying to do. They’re trying to show a little bit more of an inside look to what goes on in camp and practices, really from the football side of things and not from the entertainment side like some of the other shows do.”
Pete Carroll, Seahawks Release Tackling Video
Head coach Pete Carroll and the Seahawks coaching staff have released a video demonstrating how the club preaches, teaches, and practices proper tackling technique. The film was sent to 14,000 high school football programs and 8,000 youth football programs across the country.
"Coach Carroll sent me the video and I thought it was terrific,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. “It’s a great thing for our game to have the head coach of the Super Bowl champs teaching tackling techniques that protect the head and making it available to everyone. I hope players, coaches and parents at all levels of the game take the time to watch it.”
Greg Scruggs Happy To Be Playing Again
"My offseason was really cool as I got to get away to Colorado Springs and get some altitude training and really get away from all of the distractions and just focus on getting better," Scruggs writes. "I really put an emphasis on getting my upper body stronger to fulfill my roles as both an interior/exterior player. I hope to have everything translate over onto the field. I AM JUST HAPPY TO BE PLAYING AGAIN! Being removed from football for a year when football is your job, took a toll. Training was good, but there’s nothing like putting the pads back on."
Tweet of the Day
Today's "Tweet of the Day" comes from ESPN's NFL account, which sent this humorous congratulatory message to Adam Schefter, who reached 3 million Twitter followers yesterday.
