Richard Sherman is fifth and final Seahawk unveiled on NFL Network's Top 100 Players of 2014
He's the self-proclaimed "best corner in the game," and it's clear several of his NFL peers have adopted his same attitude.
Seahawks All-Pro Richard Sherman was unveiled at No. 7 on NFL Network's countdown of the Top 100 Players of 2014 this evening, making him the top-ranked cornerback - and top-ranked defensive player - on this year's list.
Most Interceptions Since 2011
Most Passes Defensed Since 2011
Sherman, who recorded a League-high eight interceptions a season ago, appears ahead of Arizona Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson (No. 22), New England Patriots CB Darrelle Revis (No. 37), Cleveland Browns CB Joe Haden (No. 39), Chicago Bears CB Tim Jennings (No. 74), Denver Broncos CB Aqib Talib (No. 79), and Miami Dolphins CB Brent Grimes (No. 95).
He's the fifth and final Seahawk to appear on the network's player-driven list, which wrapped up tonight with players ranked No. 10 – 1. Sherman joins teammates strong safety Kam Chancellor (No. 65), quarterback Russell Wilson (No. 20), free safety Earl Thomas (No. 17), and running back Marshawn Lynch (No. 14). The No. 7 ranking marks Sherman's second time in the Top 100, jumping 43 spots from his No. 50 ranking last year.
Rounding out the Top 10 with Sherman are Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning (No. 1), Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson (No. 2), New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady (No. 3), Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson (No. 4), Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy (No. 5), New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees (No. 6), Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles (No. 8), Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green (No. 9), and Saints tight end Jimmy Graham (No. 10).
