One More Day
The Seahawks conclude their mandatory three-day minicamp this afternoon at Renton's Virginia Mason Athletic Center, officially wrapping up the team's offseason work. After today, the club will disperse for the summer and reconvene at Seahawks headquarters when training camp opens in late July. Paul Richardson's Speed On Display
Rookie wide receiver Paul Richardson, the Seahawks' first pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, is seeking advice from the club's veteran wideouts to help ease his transition to the NFL. The pass catcher has showcased his speed through OTAs and minicamp thus far, pulling down a pair of 65-yard touchdown passes from since-released quarterback Keith Price and entrenched starter Russell Wilson.
"It’s a lot different from college because guys are stronger, guys are faster, but I think that’s part of growing up in every level of football," Richardson told reporters following Wednesday's workout. "Guys get bigger, guys get stronger, guys get faster. So I think you have to adapt and you have to be able to make plays and I think your body is going to catch up with your mind." Read
Pete Carroll Wins Jack Horrigan Award
Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll has been selected as this year's Jack Horrigan award winner, given to a league or club official for helping professional football writers do their job. Carroll is the second Seahawk to earn the honor, with former Seattle coach Mike Holmgren winning the award in 2008. Read
