Seahawks Trade Back With Minnesota Vikings
For one of the few times in the Pete Carroll - John Schneider era, the Seahawks did what many analysts and fans expected them to do in the first round of the NFL Draft - they traded back. Seattle shipped pick No. 32 to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for pick No. 40 (2nd Round) and pick No. 108 (4th Round).
The Seahawks now hold two picks in today's second round (No. 40 and 64 overall), which gets going at 4 p.m. PT. Seattle increased its total to seven picks in this year's draft, also holding two selections in the fourth (No. 108 and 132 overall), two in the fifth (No. 146 and 172 overall), and one in the sixth (No. 208 overall). The NFC West was the strongest division in football a season ago, and as such, we'll be keeping tabs on the Seahawks' closest rivals throughout this year's NFL Draft to see which players Seattle fans can expect on the other side of the football this fall.
The Cardinals selected hard-hitting safety Deone Bucannon out of Washington State with pick No. 27 - the first Cougar drafted in the first round since the Seahawks took Marcus Trufant at No. 11 in 2003.
And the Niners went with free safety Jimmie Ward at No. 30, who head coach Jim Harbaugh and general manager Trent Baalke said has the type of cover skills to play the nickel corner position as well. Read

Richard Sherman Recalls Draft Day Experience
