Russell Investments and Russell Wilson team up to donate $75k for Seattle-area charities
SEATTLE – Seattle-based asset management firm Russell Investments donated $75,000 today as part of its inaugural season “Invested with Russell” partnership with Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson. Through the program, the company donated $63,000 for the 30 passing and rushing touchdowns scored by Wilson during the NFL 2013 regular season and playoffs and announced an additional $12,000 in honor of Seahawks fans, known as the“12th Man”.
“The Invested with Russell partnership with Russell Investments was a huge success this year, and I’m grateful for their commitment to helping youth in our community,” said Wilson. “I appreciate the generous donation from Russell and for all of their support during a very memorable season for the Seahawks and Seattle.”
Russell Investment’s $75,000 donation was made to Wilson’s charitable foundation which will direct $25,000 each to JDRF, City Year and Treehouse, each of which benefits the youth in the Seattle community.
