Monday Round-Up: Christine Michael goes to prom; Russell Wilson honored at NC State
Photos from the Seahawks' 16-15 win over the San Diego Chargers.
Seahawks fans came out in droves on Saturday in San Diego.
It was family day here at the VMAC as the Seahawks had their last practice of the week before heading to San Diego tomorrow for a preaseon matchup against the Chargers on Saturday.
Good morning, 12s.
Here's a look at what's "out there" for today - Monday, April 14 - about your Seattle Seahawks:
""I'm just here for Taylor," Michael told click2Houston.com at Kirkwood's home in Anahuac, Texas. "It's a blessing. Like I said, she's a beautiful kid. I'm very proud of her."
Quarterback Russell Wilson had his jersey number and collegiate career honored in a ceremony at North Carolina State over the weekend.
Speaking of Wilson, ESPN.com's Terry Blount concludes his countdown of the Top 12 Seahawks heading into the new year, and the Seahawks signal caller comes in at No. 1 on his list. Cornerback Richard Sherman and free safety Earl Thomas came in at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, in Blount's ranks. On Wilson at No. 1, Blount writes, "For anyone else you want to name, you at least could make a reasonable argument that the team still would have won the Super Bowl without him. But without Wilson? Not a chance. He led the team to its first Super Bowl championship in his second NFL season. Wilson sometimes gets criticized for being just a game manager in an offense that emphasizes a power running game. Anyone who believes that hasn’t watched Wilson play much and hasn’t seen all the remarkable things he does. "
Jayson Jenks of the Seattle Times says the Arizona Cardinals have been the offseason winners of the NFC West.
Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times has started to count down the Top 25 Seahawks draft picks of all-time.
And on the UCLA Bruin projecting to Seattle, Brugler adds, "Offensive guard has been an inconsistent position on the Seattle roster. Su'a-Filo has experience at tackle and guard, but projects best inside and will be the top guard in this class for several teams."
Josh Norris of rotoworld.com has Su'a-Filo off the board to the Kansas City Chiefs at No. 23 in his latest mock, so he sees the Seahawks selecting Nevada offensive lineman Joel Bitonio at with pick No. 32.
Peter King of TheMMQB.com has his Monday Morning Quarterback column leading with five things you should know about the 2014 NFL Draft.
NFL.com has set up a way for you to get in on the mock draft action as we build up to May's NFL Draft.
And Saturday was "Jermaine Kearse Day" in Lakewood, Wash., when the Seahawks' Super Bowl champion wide receiver was honored in his hometown. We'll have video from Saturday's festivities at Harry E. Lang Stadium - where Kearse played his high school ball for the Lakes Lancers - on Seahawks.com this week.
