Here's a look at what's "out there" for today - Thursday, Feb. 27 - about your Seattle Seahawks:
Chad Thornburg of MLB.com tells us quarterback Russell Wilson is expected to participate in workouts and be in uniform for the Texas Rangers' game against the Cleveland Indians on Monday. If you missed it, the Rangers selected the former professional baseball-player Wilson in the MLB Rule 5 draft back in early December. Thornburg passes along quotes from Rangers manager Ron Washington, who offered a glimpse at what his club expects to gain from the football-first Wilson.
"The guy has had a lot of success and he has a championship attitude," Washington said. "We're going to give him a chance to talk to our young kids and see what happens. Maybe [shortstop Elvis Andrus] and some of those young guys can hang with him and see what he has to offer."
Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times rounds up Twitter reaction from coach Pete Carroll's speech at the University of Southern California last night. The get-together featured a surprise visit from actor Will Ferrell, who booted a field goal with Carroll as holder in the middle of the campus auditorium. Read

The NFL Insiders at CBSSports.com have their first post-NFL Combine mock draft of the year, with three of the four analysts believing UCF quarterback Blake Bortles will be the No. 1 overall pick. The crew is split on who the Seahawks will select at pick No. 32, with Minnesota defensive tackle RaShede Hageman, UCLA offensive guard Xavier Su'a-Filo, Tennessee offensive tackle Antonio Richardson, and Stanford offensive guard David Yankey on their boards.
Chris Burke of SI.com has a two-round, post-NFL Combine mock draft, and he predicts the Seahawks to select Texas Tech tight end Jace Amaro with pick No. 32 and Stanford offensive guard David Yankey with pick No. 64.

Nick Mensio of rotoworld.com provides free agent advice for each of the League's 32 teams, pushing the Seahawks to pursue current Houston Texans defensive lineman Antoinio Smith, a 6-foot-3, 272-pound 26-year-old that Mensio says can effectively rush the passer from the inside and outside.
Todd Dybas of the Tacoma News Tribune thinks UCLA offensive lineman Xavier Su'a-Filo could be a fit for the Seahawks. Su'a-Filo measures 6-foot-4, 307 pounds and played guard and tackle for the Bruins.
