Social Scene: Seahawks react to Super Bowl win over Denver Broncos
The Seahawks have brought the very first Lombardi Trophy to the city of Seattle.
After topping the Denver Broncos 43-8 in Super Bowl XLVIII this past Sunday night at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium, several players quickly took to various social media channels to share their postgame reaction with friends, family, and fans. It's a lively scene, and it's one I've laid out for you below.
But one of the more-notable postgame reactions came from Twitterless Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, whose unit collected four Broncos turnovers while holding Denver quarterback and NFL MVP Peyton Manning and the highest-scoring offense in NFL history to a mere eight points.
"I was not surprised we played that well," Quinn said of the Seahawks' performance. "We've had terrific weeks of practices and preparation. Going into it we were really healthy and we really felt that we played fast and physical."
The Seahawks shutout the Broncos' fast-paced air attack in the first half for the first time all season, owning a 22-0 advantage at the break.
"We prepared for no-huddle for two weeks," Quinn continued. "If you give those guys two weeks to prepare, those coaches and those players, I think you're going to like it."
Quinn's use of the word "like" doesn't quite do Sunday's result justice, especially not for the rapid fanatics who have followed this football team's every snap from all over the globe. With the franchise's first Super Bowl championship now in hand, another "L-word" comes to mind - "love." And that affection, appreciation, and infatuation for the Seahawks has taken Seattle and the Pacific Northwest by storm.
