On this date: Dave Krieg’s five TD passes pace eighth consecutive win
1984: The Seahawks cap an eight-game winning streak with a 38-17 victory over the Lions at the Kingdome as Dave Krieg passes for a club-record five touchdowns, including two each to Steve Largent and Daryl Turner.
1979: The Seahawks run for three touchdowns and Steve Largent catches nine passes for 120 yards, but it’s a too-little-too-late effort as the Chiefs take a 37-7 lead and hold on for a 37-21 victory at Arrowhead Stadium.
2001: Rian Lindell kicks s 43-yard field goal in the third quarter to tie the score and then a 24-yarder in overtime as the Seahawks take a 13-10 victory over the San Diego Chargers at Husky Stadium. The Seahawks also intercept two Doug Flutie passes.
2012: Rookie QB Russell Wilson throws a 14-yard touchdown pass to Golden Tate to give the Seahawks a 17-14 lead with 24 seconds left and then, after the Bears tie the score on a last-play field goal, he passes 13 yards to Sidney Rice in overtime as the Seahawks take a 23-17 overtime victory in Chicago. The victory starts a five-game winning streak to close the regular season.
