Renton, Wash. - The Seattle Seahawks have placed center/guard Jared Smith on practice squad/injured reserve and signed wide receiver Josh Lenz in his place, the team announced this afternoon.
Lenz had been with the Chicago Bears in training camp after being signed as a free agent out of Iowa State, but he was released on the roster cut to 53 players.
Smith was Seattle's third of four seventh-round draft choices (241st overall) in April's NFL Draft.
