Clinton McDonald, who worked so effectively in the Seahawks’ defensive tackle rotation last season, was re-signed by the club on Saturday.
To clear a spot on the 53-man roster on the eve of Sunday night’s nationally televised home opener against the San Francisco 49ers at CenturyLink Field, offensive tackle Mike Person was released.
The 6-foot-2, 297-pound McDonald had been released on the roster cut to 53 players on Aug. 31. He played in 14 games last season and had 25 tackles. After being acquired in a trade with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2011, McDonald posted a career-high 35 tackles while playing in 15 games and starting one at the three-technique tackle spot for since-departed Alan Branch.
