On this date: Ken Behring completes purchase of franchise
Members of the Seahawks Women's Association and Delaware North Sportservice hosted approximately 150 local women and children at CenturyLink Field as Seahawks players, members of the Sea Gals and mascot Blitz served thanksgiving dinner. Watch
1988: Ken Behring and minority partner Ken Hofmann complete their purchase of the team from the Nordstrom family. The Seahawks would win their first division title in that first season under Behring’s ownership, but post only one winning record (9-7 in 1990) in remaining next eight he owned the franchise.
1999: Fritz Shurmur dies of liver cancer before ever coaching a game as the Seahawks defensive coordinator. Shurmur had come to Seattle in January as part of Mike Holmgren’s staff, but was diagnosed with cancer in June.
