A happy Wright-stuff birthday to K.J.
He started his first NFL game at middle linebacker. He has been the starting strong-side linebacker for most of the past two seasons, and finished second on the team in tackles last year. He is moving to the weak side this season.
He? K.J. Wright. And the most startling part of all the good things he has done for the Seahawks since being selected in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL Draft just might be that he turns 24 today. Just another young player who has performed beyond his years – and experience – on a defense that last season yielded the fewest points in the league and ranked a franchise-best fourth in average yards allowed.
No one – except Wright, maybe – knew how good he would become, and how quickly. So on his special day, we wish K.J. the happiest of birthdays on the eve of he and his teammates reporting for their training camp physicals on Wednesday.
