Seahawks Invite Fans to Participate in Annual Toy Drive

RENTON, Wash. - The Seattle Seahawks and Marine Toys for Tots Foundation will have representatives at CenturyLink Field for the annual toy drive during the Seahawks versus Arizona Cardinals game on December 9. Touchdown City opens at 10 a.m. stadium gates open at 11 a.m. with kickoff scheduled for 1:25 p.m.
Volunteers will be collecting new and unwrapped toys or cash donations in Touchdown City, all gate locations and at the Bekins Moving & Storage Co. truck located outside the northwest gate.
"Every year Bekins Moving & Storage Co. looks forward to working with the Seahawks by providing movers and a truck to assist with the annual Toys for Tots collection," said Paul Bekins, the third generation of the Bekins family members to own Bekins Moving & Storage Company. "Our company has a long history of community involvement in the Northwest and we consider it a privilege to be able to be involved in such a worthwhile event."
The need for toys is greater than ever this year with more than 16 million children living in poverty throughout the U.S. Fans interested in sponsoring a child are invited to visit www.toysfortots.org/touchdown now through December 24.
"We are thankful to the owners, players and fans of the Seahawks for their support of Toys for Tots and our 2012 campaign," said General Pete Osman, USMC (Ret), president and chief executive officer of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. "The efforts of the team will enable Toys for Tots to fulfill the Christmas holiday dreams of less fortunate children throughout greater Seattle."
For 65 years, the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation has delivered a message of hope to less fortunate children through the gift of a new toy during the holiday season. Last year, Marines distributed toys to more than 7.2 million children nationwide.
