Seahawks Announce the 2012 High School Coach of the Year

RENTON, Wash. - The Seattle Seahawks and Sterling Bank today announced Bellevue High School's Butch Goncharoff as the 2012 "NFL High School Coach of the Year" for the state of Washington.
Coach Goncharoff and the Wolverines defeated Eastside Catholic 35-3 in the State 3A Championship game, capping a perfect 14-0 season. The 2012 Wolverines achieved a national ranking of #6 in the MaxPreps polls. This was Bellevue's 10th state championship in the last 12 years. Goncharoff has completed his 18th year at Bellevue, serving the last 13 as the head coach. It is his second time being selected as "NFL High School Coach of the Year" for the state of Washington, as he was also selected as the Seahawks Coach of the Year in 2003.
The 2012 NFL High School Coach of the Year for Washington State will receive a $2,000 cash grant and will be up for the Jim Ennis Award for NFL High School Coach of the Year, selected from the field of all 32 NFL teams' Coach of the Year selections.
Now in its 17th season, the NFL High School Coach of the Week program is a partnership between the Washington State Football Coaches Association, the Seattle Seahawks and Sterling Bank.
