Seahawks Make Roster Moves
Steve Hauschka and the Washington Dairy Council participated in the Fuel Up To Play 60 school assembly. The Washington State Dairy Council awarded McKnight Middle School in Renton with a $10,000 check as a part of their Seahawks Hometown Grant to continue their healthy eating and exercise habits as a school. Renton, Wash. - The Seattle Seahawks have released quarterback Josh Portis from the practice squad and signed wide receiver Phil Bates in his place, the team announced this afternoon.
Portis signed as an undrafted rookie free agent by Seattle on July 26, 2011 and was inactive for 15 games and dressed, but did not play, at Cleveland (10/23/11). He spent this season on the team's practice squad after being released following training camp.
