Seahawks Place Thurmond on Injured Reserve

Renton, Wash. - The Seattle Seahawks have placed cornerback Walter Thurmond on injured reserve and claimed cornerback Ron Parker off waivers (Oakland), the team announced this afternoon.
Thurmond played in 19 games with four starts for Seattle since being drafted with the first of two fourth-round draft picks (111th overall) in the 2010 NFL Draft. He has 45 tackles (36 solo), nine passes defensed and one forced fumble in his career.
Parker went to training camp with Seattle and spent time on its practice squad until being released on September 22. He signed with Oakland on September 26 and played in three games before being released on October 23.
