RENTON, Wash. - The Seattle Seahawks signed defensive tackle Jason Shirley and placed cornerback Marcus Trufant on injured reserve.
Shirley was drafted by Cincinnati in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL Draft out of Fresno State. He played in three games in 2008, recording four tackles (2 solo).
Trufant is the Seahawks longest tenured player and is in his ninth season with the club. He has played in 124 career games (123 starts) and recorded 604 tackles (533 solo). Trufant ranks fifth in franchise history with 21 career interceptions. This season, Trufant played in four games, registering 23 tackles (20 solo) and one interception.
