Seahawks Acquire Marshawn Lynch in Trade with Bills
Lynch, the 12th overall selection out of California in the 2007 NFL Draft, played in 45 games with 37 starts for Buffalo, leaving the team as its 10th all-time leading rusher (2,765) and ninth all-time in rushing attempts (687). He also became the fastest Bills running back to reach 1,500 yards (19 games) and joined Joe Cribbs and Willis McGahee as the only Bills running backs to reach 1,000 yards in their first two seasons.
He rushed for a career-high 1,115 yards on 280 attempts his rookie season and followed that up with 1,036 yards on 250 carries and a career-high eight touchdowns in 2008, where he was selected to the Pro Bowl as an injury replacement for Tennessee's Chris Johnson.
This season, he started three of four games, rushing 37 times for 164 yards. He has rushed 687 times for 2,765 yards with 17 touchdowns and a long of 56 (touchdown) in his career, with a career-high 153 yards vs. Cincinnati (11/4/07).
Lynch re-unites with college roommate Justin Forsett in Seattle. At California, Lynch became the fourth player in school history to rush for over 3,000 yards, while Forsett became the fifth. Lynch finished his career second in school history with 3,230 yards while Forsett was 10 yards shy of that mark with 3,220 yards. Read
