Youth Football

For the fourteenth consecutive year the Seattle Seahawks will host Gatorade Junior Training Camps. These two hour clinics combine first-rate football instruction and life skills messages that focus on self-improvement and a motivational life-skills session with a Seahawks player or alumni.  The Gatorade Junior Training Camps are FREE to kids ages 8-14. Participants will receive a camp t-shirt and Gatorade water bottle.  Each Gatorade Junior Training Camp is limited to 200 participants. Camps are filled on a first come first serve basis. A parent and or guardian will be required to fill out the registration form. Following the submission of the registration form, you will receive confirmation of your registration.

Thank you campers and parents, all 2009 Gatorade Junior Training Camp dates are full.  Next summer's camp dates and locations will be available Spring 2010.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the difference between the Blue Tour and a Gatorade Junior Training Camp?

The Gatorade Junior Training Camp is only one of the several activities during the two Blue Tour stops.  This year's Blue Tour stops are in Spokane, WA and Vancouver, BC.  Along with the Gatorade Junior Training Camp, the Seahawks and local community partners will host fun and free events for the whole family.  In addition to the Blue Tour, this summer, individual Gatorade Junior Training Camps will be available throughout Washington in June and July.

Q: What is the costs of the Blue Tour and Gatorade Junior Training Camp?

All activities are free and open to the public.  Youth ages 8-14 must pre-register online to participate in the Gatorade Junior Training Camp, parents are welcome to watch from the stands.

Q: How many spaces are available for the activities?

The first 200 participants that register online for the Gatorade Junior Training Camp will be guaranteed a spot.  Spaces are unlimited for the Blue Tour dance and drum clinics that occur during the football camp, just show up to participate!

Q: What is the skill-level expectation for the activities?

All skills-levels are welcome.  The football camp is non-contact and includes basic football drills.  Blue Tour dance and drum clinics are also for beginning to experienced dancers and drummers.

Q: What should one wear to camp?

Athletic shoes, shirts, and shorts.  Put on your Seahawks gear and join us!

Q:  What time do I need to pick my child up?

Because of SAFETY reasons, please arrive thirty (30) minutes before the scheduled end of the camp or Blue Tour activity.

Q:  What happens if my child gets hurt?

Every effort is made to ensure that injuries do not occur.  Program participants are required to follow the coaches’ procedures for conditioning, warm up, stretching, and cool downs, and to exercise caution when using any athletic equipment. When an injury occurs, parents and program participants are expected to remain calm and let the trainer(s) or camp coaching staff administers aid.  Camp participants, other than the injured athlete, must remain clear of the injury.  The parents/guardians of the injured student will be contacted immediately and will be expected to return the Blue Tour or Seahawks Gatorade Junior Training Camp site.  The site coordinator for each Blue Tour or Seahawks Gatorade Junior Training Camp will have a cellular telephone on site at all times AND WILL CALL 911 in the case of an emergency. The site coordinator must have a base knowledge of the facility in-order to provide the emergency response team with the proper entry/evacuation points.

Q: Who are the coaches of the Gatorade Junior Training Camps and how are they qualified?

The Seattle Seahawks believe that the fundamental purpose of participation in youth sports is to enhance physical and emotional growth.  Our goal is to encourage a positive attitude in young men and women while teaching them football skills in a safe environment.  Camp coaches are selected to serve as teachers and role models for camp participants.

Q:  What other ways can my child get involved in football?

The NFL and the Seattle Seahawks encourage students to participate in youth football programs. The Seattle Seahawks have a number of football programs designed specifically for young people.
