Celebrity field increasing for Jim Mora Celebrity Golf Classic

Golf Classic in August to benefit the Jim Mora Count On Me Family Foundation and the Virginia Mason Medical Center.

RENTON, Wash. – The field of celebrities continues to grow for the Jim Mora Celebrity Golf Classic, coming August 24, 2009 at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge. Now scheduled to play are Seahawks Ring of Honor members Kenny Easley, Jacob Green, and Dave Krieg, NFL Hall of Famers Steve Largent and Mike Haynes, former NFL Head Coach Jim Mora, Sr., former NBA great Detlef Schrempf, NBA Hall of Fame player and coach Lenny Wilkens, former Seattle Mariners star Jay Buhner, and former University of Washington Head Coach Don James, among many other personalities from the worlds of sports and entertainment.

The Jim Mora Celebrity Golf Classic is a partnership with the Jim Mora Count On Me Family Foundation, the Seattle Seahawks, the Boeing Classic and the Virginia Mason Medical Center. Funds raised will benefit children in need through the Jim Mora Count On Me Family Foundation and the Nutrition and Fitness for Life Program at Virginia Mason. A limited number of foursomes and sponsorships are still available for this exclusive event.

The Jim Mora Count On Me Family Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization which supports children in need (primarily in three target areas: from low socio-economic backgrounds, mentally and physically challenged, and children at-risk) by affording them the opportunity to realize their potential and dreams, and helping create more stability in their lives. The Jim Mora Count On Me Family Foundation empowers community organizations to improve the lives of children by building confidence, encouraging health and wellness, providing learning opportunities, and using the sport of football as a springboard to talk about life and life lessons. The Boeing Classic is an Official Event of the PGA TOUR Champions Tour and in 2009 will celebrate its fifth anniversary. Highlights during the course of the week include the Jim Mora Celebrity Golf Classic (August 24), the Champions Tour Youth Clinic (August 25) and the Seahawks Pro-Am (August 26-27).
