Where are They Now: Christina

Posted Jan 31, 2012

Former Sea Gal Christina spent two years on the squad and is now doing great things with her life. She gives an update on what she is doing now, as she looks to become Miss USA 2012.

Hi Seahawks fans! It's Sea Gal alum Christina “Tina” and I am your reigning Miss Washington USA 2012! Since I was crowned in October of 2011, I have been asked countless times “how many pageants have you been in?” Many people are surprised to learn that the Miss Washington USA was my very first pageant and as I reflect on that experience to where I'm at today, I feel very fortunate. I believe you can do great things and overcome obstacles if you really put your heart and mind to it.

Back in 2007 when I was a senior in high school, I stepped out of my comfort zone and decided to try out for the Sea Gals. Walking into the first day of auditions, I had no idea what to expect, nor did I ever imagine how becoming an NFL cheerleader would change my life in the most amazing ways. After making theteam at seventeen years old, I spent the next two years with a brilliant group of women traveling the world and cheering among the best fans in the NFL.

Little did I know, each time I attended practice, stepped on the field during game day, or grabbed the microphone to sing for our troops overseas, I was preparing myself to become capable of the things I am accomplishing today. I am grateful for my experience with the Sea Gals and I owe so much to my wonderful teammates of 2007-2009, but most importantly I'm thankful for the phenomenal Sea Gals director, Sherri Thompson, for giving me the opportunity to become a part of an amazing organization. I probably wouldn't be where I'm at today had it not been for her influence.

The next step on my journey as Miss Washington USA 2012 is to prepare for Miss USA 2012 title, which will be televised internationally on NBC Universal in May/June. You can follow my journey to the crown on my official Miss Washington USA Facebook page or on twitter @RealMissWAUSA and to find out more about the Miss Washington USA pageant, go to: www.misswashingtonusa.com

I think Miss Washington USA could use the 12th man! ;)
