Learn More About This Sea Gal

Occupation:  Student

High School:  Calabasas High School (Calabasas, CA)

College: University of Washington

Major or Degree:  English (Creative Writing)

Years as a Sea Gal:  2 Years

Dance Background: I have 17 years of training in ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap, lyrical, and contemporary. I have only been cheerleading for a year, but I love learning new styles.

Hobbies: My hobbies include yoga, running, and nutrition. I also love to read novels and poetry, write short stories, and travel.

Major Goal I Have Met:  My greatest accomplishment was writing a novella for my Honors senior thesis.

Best Experience: The best experience I’ve had recently was moving to New York City for three months to work at a literary agency. I learned so much about what I want out of my career and the type of work environment I’m looking for. It also gave me the opportunity to hone my writing skills and see what types of books sell in today’s market.

How I Stay Fit: I stay fit by exercising six times a week and cooking healthy meals for myself. I’m always looking for fun ways to be active like hiking, canoeing, and fitness classes.

Best Advice: The best advice I ever received was from my first dance teacher. She told me to always be a sponge and absorb as much as I can. I try to learn from everyone around me—my professors, my friends, and my colleagues—and take no experience for granted.

Best Part of Being a Sea Gal: The best part about being a Sea Gal is that first moment when you run out of the tunnel onto the field. Sixty-seven thousand fans are cheering, and you really feel what being a 12th man means. You are part of a team and a spirit that goes beyond the sidelines. No matter how nervous I get, I know 33 of my best friends are standing next to me.
