Learn More About This Sea Gal

Occupation:  Event Coordinator at the Lacey Chamber of Commerce

High School:  Timberline High School (Olympia, WA)

College: University of Washington

Major or Degree:  Political Science

Years as a Sea Gal:  4

Dance Background: Over 20 years of jazz, ballet, hip-hop and tap and 4 years of cheerleading. I still like to take any class I can!

Hobbies: I have a recent obsession with Pinterest and DIY projects so my free time is full of trips to craft stores and making all sorts of crafty things! I also like to read, cook, and I love to travel! Of course, when I do get a chance to travel, I tend to drive my travel buddies crazy because I do an extensive amount of research on the local culture, history, restaurants and off beat things to see and do… that is the history nerd coming out in me!

Favorite Quote:  When I was a little girl playing softball for the first time, I struck out and started to cry. My Mom said to me “You swung the bat really well and even Ken Griffey Jr. strikes out sometimes.” He was my favorite player at the time and I remember feeling instantly better. I remind myself of this from time to time that the best of the best can strike out but they keep getting back up to the plate, learn from their mistakes and continue to work hard to improve and be the best they can be.

Best Experience: When I traveled with the Sea Gal Show Group to Kosovo, Bahrain and Djibouti on an Armed Forces Entertainment tour.  I had no idea what to expect, how to pack and prepare myself for not only three countries, but three continents in two weeks.  We met thousands of brave soldiers who hadn’t seen their families for months and were living in small accommodations with little luxuries.  Each person we met in our travels was positive and had a smile on their face.  That trip put so much into perspective and gave me a new level of respect for those who serve and protect our country.  It was an experience that will impact me for the rest of my life.

How I Stay Fit: I get bored very quickly with workout routines so I make sure to change my exercise plan often. Hiking, running, swimming, group fitness classes, and trying out new sports are some of the things I rotate through the year. I do however, make sure hot yoga is done once a week and I dance, dance, dance! Eating well is also a huge key to success for my fitness. No dairy allowed and I watch my sweet and carb intake.

Best Part of Being a Sea Gal: This question stumps me every year because being a Sea Gal as a whole is amazing! I have made friends that I will have for the rest of my life, I have been on the field for Hawks plays that will go down in history, I have traveled the world performing for our military and fans abroad, I have met the best fans in the NFL, and I get to do all of this while doing something that makes me very happy… dancing covered in rhinestones! Go Hawks!
