Years as a Sea Gal:  2

Dance Background: I began cheerleading as a senior in high school. I was primarily an athlete in school participating in track & field and gymnastics but decided to try out for cheerleading because I enjoyed sports and thought the cheerleaders had the best seats in the house for sporting events. I discovered a passion for dancing and performing so I continued cheering for 4 years for the Men’s Football & Basketball teams while attending Georgetown University.

Hobbies: I really enjoy spending time with my family cooking up some soul food and having great conversations over dinner that keep us closely knit. I love traveling with my fabulous group of girlfriends and soaking up the opportunity to meet new people and explore new cities. I also love working with young kids and teach a cheerleading basics class for an afterschool program at my children’s school. I am a huge sports fan so in my opinion, there is nothing better than watching football all day on Sundays, enjoying NBA doubleheaders over the holidays and being glued to the TV during March Madness.

Best Experience: SMy best experience is being a mother to my wonderful two children and feeling the unconditional love and adoration from them every day. My children reciprocate the love that I give to them tenfold and continue to show me that I don’t have to be perfect – that I am enough, just the way I am. The next best experience in my life is the exhilarating feeling that consumes me when I’m dancing and performing in front of the best fans in the NFL. On game day I get to leave behind all of my inhibitions, fears and worries and just live in each moment on the field because I really am having the time of my life.

How I Stay Fit: I stay fit by paying equal attention to my diet and exercise. I enjoy running and dancing for my cardio workout and core strengthening and abdominal exercises to keep my body toned. As much as I would love to eat whatever I want, I have learned to cut out fatty foods and focus on healthier food options with more frequent and smaller meals.

Best Part of Being a Sea Gal: The best part of being a Sea Gal is the opportunity to serve as a positive role model to young children. I absolutely love the Junior Sea Gal program because I have the chance to get to know these beautiful young girls who love to dance and have so much personality. It is so humbling that the girls look up to you and aspire to be like you one day. The best part of being a Sea Gal is finding inspiration through my interaction with young children to continue to be my best self and provide a great example for them to follow.
