Occupation: Owner of PacWest Performing Arts
High School: Juanita High School (Seattle, WA)
College: University of Washington
Years as a Sea Gal: 3 Years
Dance Background:
I’ve studied jazz, tap, and ballet since I was three years old. I became a fan of hip hop and modern in college, and dabbled in salsa and west coast swing. As a studio owner/instructor I’ve become proficient in lyrical and contemporary.
Hobbies: I love live comedy and live music. A close third is driving around late at night and listening to podcasts – This American Life, Freakonomics, Marc Maron, and Bill Burr are my favorites.
Major Goal I Have Met: Somehow I managed to start a second dance studio this year. I’m excited to see it grow.
Best Experience: In October of 2009 my future husband and I were sitting in the stands at Qwest, freezing, watching the Hawks play the Jaguars. I looked down at the Sea Gals and decided “I have an overwhelming sensation that I must do that.” I didn’t tell him until we were walking to our car. It was exhilarating knowing I was about to work for something that was so completely outside my comfort zone.
How I Stay Fit: When I teach I participate as if I’m taking class with my students. I also park as far from the grocery store as possible, and rarely take the elevator!
Best Advice: Never send an email when you’re angry.
Best Part of Being a Sea Gal: I feel so fortunate to represent the Seahawks. There is a cumulative pride I feel for our city, our team, and our organization when I step back and look at the NFL. Seattle is like no other. Go Hawks!
