Look who’s coming to the Seahawks’ game against the Vikings

Posted Nov 17, 2013

The 12th Man is out in force for the Sunday’s game against the Vikings on “Salute to Service” day at CenturyLink Field, including a member of the Coast Guard and a former soldier who served in Afghanistan.

A closer look at the three of the 12th Man fans who are attending the Seahawks’ game against the Minnesota Vikings at CenturyLink Field on Sunday:

Selena Willard

Age: 35

From: Ketchikan, Alaska

Accompanied by: Her husband, John, who’s in the Coast Guard and stationed in Ketchikan

Fan since: “We’ve been married 17 years, so 17 years. I grew up in Texas and he converted me.”

Favorite current Seahawks: Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson. “Lynch because he’s Beast Mode. And Russell because he’s popular.”

Favorite all-time Seahawk: After a long pause and several glances at her husband, he said, “You’d better stick with Lynch, because you’re not going to pull one out of your (butt).”

Favorite Seahawks moment this season: “Just the record (9-1).”

Favorite all-time Seahawks moment: “When they went to the Super Bowl,” she said, again with an assist from her husband

Matt Kiefat

Age: 33

From: Fargo, N.D.

Accompanied by: His wife, Amber

Fan since: 1988

Favorite current Seahawk: Marshawn Lynch. “Because he’s Beast Mode.”

Favorite all-time Seahawk: Steve Largent. “Because he showed up day in and day out. That’s what he is.”

Favorite Seahawks moment this season: “That Monday night game (against the Rams in St. Louis), when Lynch ran into that defender and blew him right back. He blew right through that guy at the goal line. That was good stuff.”

Favorite all-time Seahawks moment: “No. I don’t have one, because we haven’t won the Super Bowl. That will be my favorite moment when we do it this year.”

Noah Clark

Age: 31

From: Seattle

Accompanied by: His wife, Katrina

Fan since: “All my life. I was 4-years old, and I had the Brian Bosworth lines cut in my head.”

Favorite current Seahawk: Russell Wilson. “Because he’s an underdog. He’s a short guy. He’s not your typical quarterback.”

Favorite all-time Seahawk: Steve Largent. “For obvious reasons. I just loved him growing up. He’s the guy who could catch anything that was thrown his way. He went on to public service as an elected official.”

Favorite Seahawks moment this season: “The Atlanta game and seeing Marshawn Lynch just put it down and get his runs in (for a season-high 145 yards).”

Favorite all-time Seahawks moment: “The Marshawn Lynch run against the Saints in the playoff game (in 2010). This whole place was on fire. It shook. I was home on leave (from the Army) from Afghanistan at the time. My wife had just gotten us tickets that year. That was the first game for that season I got to go to, and my first game at CenturyLink. It was amazing.”
