Look who’s coming to the Seahawks’ game against the Rams

Posted Dec 29, 2013

A look at three of the 68,000-plus 12th Man fans who turned out for Fan Appreciation Day to watch the Seahawks try to wrap up the NFC West title against the St. Louis Rams at CenturyLink Field.

Neil Hart (a.k.a. Kiltman)

Age: 42

From: Everett, Wash.

Accompanied by: Will Harrison

Fan since: “Way back. One of my earliest Seahawk memories was actually coming home from church and having the call with Pete Gross, ‘Who dat? Jodat.’ (Jim Jodat).”

Favorite current Seahawk: “I’d have to go Russell Wilson, just for what he means for the community and everything. He’s such a solid, cerebral guy. He works hard.”

Favorite all-time Seahawk: Isaiah Kacyvenski. “It was really cool. We (the Seahawkers) had a relationship back before all this happened, with the team being popular and all that. He and J.P. Darche and Matt Hasselbeck would come to the Seahawker banquets. So just to have that time. Kaz would see me at training camp, with or without the (Kiltman) garb, and would come over. His last professional game, my son was there and he gave his last game gloves to my son. So I just love him.”

Favorite moment this season: “I’d have to say watching in Canada – with my friends, Canadian Seahawkers – the shutout against the Giants. I have ‘Go Hawks’ as my license plate. So at the border crossing coming back, he’s like, ‘What was your business in Canada?’ I was like, ‘Hey, I was watching the game with my friends.’ He’s like, ‘Go Hawks, huh?’ There was a huge line behind me and we’re talking about the Seahawks and their offense and stuff for like five minutes. Everyone else is getting mad and angry and we’re throwing down about what’s going on with the Seahawks and what happened that day.”

Favorite moment in franchise history: “I have to go back to Cortez Kennedy returning a fumble or an interception at the Kingdome right in front of us. We were first-time season-ticket holders when Paul Allen and Bob Whitsitt signed on the bottom line (to purchase the team). They didn’t have any demand for tickets. So we’re front row, on the pylon, in the 100 level, for $18 a ticket at that time. So all of sudden, here comes Tez running right in front of us. I lost my mind. I screamed so hard. There’s like 18 muscles that run from the top of your head to frowns on your eyebrows. I like tore one. It hurt so bad I thought I was having a stroke.”

April Monn

Age: 22

From: Bremerton, Wash.

Accompanied by: Her parents, Maria and Randy

Fan since: “A year. Now that I can watch the games. I used to work every game day. So I didn’t watch.”

Favorite current Seahawk: Marshawn Lynch. “Because he’s awesome.”

Favorite all-time Seahawk: Marshawn Lynch

Favorite moment this season: “When we beat the 49ers (in the home opener in Week 2). Because I was here.”

Favorite moment in franchise history: “When we went to the Super Bowl (in 2005). I remember that.”

Triston Neubauer

Age: 12

From: Wallace, Idaho

Accompanied by: His parents, Kevin and Cheryl; and sister, Jesann

Fan since: “A long time.”

Favorite current Seahawk: Richard Sherman. “Because he’s good at defense.”

Favorite all-time Seahawk: Richard Sherman.

Favorite moment this season: “When Richard Sherman returned the interception for a touchdown against the Texans (to tie the game in regulation).”

Favorite moment in franchise history: “The pass where the Seahawks beat the Packers (Russell Wilson to Golden Tate on the final play of the Week 3 game in 2012).”
